Considerations Before Using an Ionic Foot Bath

Before beginning any therapeutic or relaxation program you should research any possible reaction. Talk with your health care provider. Here are some of the considerations before using an ionic foot bath.

You should NOT use an ionic detox or cleansing bath if you are in the following categories:

  • Persons with a Pacemaker, any other battery-operated or electrical medical implant
  • Person who is on heartbeat regulating medication
  • Pregnant women and breast-feeding mothers
  • Persons having an organ removed, or organ transplant recipients
  • Persons taking a medication for psychotic episodes, seizures, or other mental or mind altering substances

The following recommendations should also be observed:

  • Do not wear metal, use a computer or cell phone during an ionic foot bath session
  • Persons with low blood sugar should eat before using the ionic foot bath
  • Time your use of the footspa to four hours before or after taking prescription medications
  • Drinking water will always help in flushing toxins from the body, so make sure you are hydrated before and during your session
  • Persons with any metal joint implant may find the electromagnetic field generated by the ionic foot bath to be uncomfortable, and if any discomfort is experienced you should stop using the ionic foot spa immediately
  • If you are in treatment for kidney or liver conditions you should speak you’re your health care provider regarding use of an ionic foot spa as a part of your routine health and wellness program
  • As the ionic foot spa pulls toxins from the bloodstream, through osmosis and diffusion, it can also pull some electrolytes as well. It is advised that you follow your session with a quality multi vitamin and mineral supplement
  • Follow the instructions provided with your ionic foot spa, and use common sense as to the duration and regularity of use
